K-OS

•March 10, 2009 • 1 Comment

So this post is for my fondness for K-OS who is a rapper, singer and producer. I don’t actually remember what song I heard first from his that got me hooked but his album Joyful Rebellion is a dope album and is constantly getting played in my headphones. He has a new album called “Yes” coming out I believe March 31st. He just released a Video for the sing 4,3,2,1 and is a very creative video for a dope song…

On of my favorite song from Joyful Rebellion = Emcee Murdah (This is the acoustic version)

CHECK OUT HIS STUFF HE IS A GREAT ARTIST

Stevie with the Original Autotune!

•March 7, 2009 • Leave a Comment

So with all of Hip Hop and other genre’s of music who are overly overly overly overly using autotune AND I MEAN OVERLY USED. I have grown so tired of everyone using it. Especially when rappers start using it to actually spit a verse with. It sounds so horrible to me. People need to start trying to be creative! Throw a guitar amp on your vocals. Patch a Vodocer to the vocals…Something!!! So I regress….This is a clip of Stevie using the Talkbox and this puts to shame anyone who ever used the Autotune! Watch this man work the Talkbox..GENIUS…

An added bonus, one of my favorite Stevie tracks…Shout out to Sah Ril for playing this song to me in his attic, I was hooked within 3 bars.

Sean PPPPP and the Rockness!!!!

More Ear Candy for your ears…Heltah Skeltah is one of my favorite groups of all time. The Nocturnal album is a classic in my eyes. Sean Price is also one of my favorite emcees also. So I am posting a freestyle and a couple of songs. Please Enjoy!

Martina Topley Bird – The Blue God

•March 4, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I would like to talk about Martina Topley Bird’s album – The Blue God. I came across this album last year by accident. I really only gave the album a listen because Danger Mouse produced the album. He happens to be one of the top producers who I love and would buy anything he does. Just before I got into this album, I was heavy listening to the The Black Keys album that Danger Mouse did which I loved so I gave Martina’s CD a shot. The Blue God is a great album with great production. Martina originally started off working with Tricky and then went solo. I still have yet to listen to here other albums she has put out before this. Her voice is very gentle and soothing with Danger Mouse providing a very appropriate musical sound scape for her to go wild with. So I urge anyone and everyone to go out and listen to her album!!! You won’t regret it…
